Hoi,
It has been some time since my last post, this does not mean I have been idle however. A lot of garden-work has taken my time and I have been in the process of expanding my 28mm real-estate. Looking around the "man-cave" 7 unpainted MDF lasered buildings spanning from the Dark Ages to contemporary days, are scattered around the place. These are not the subject of today's post however, I will report on them later.
No, for this update I will show you my latest 7YW Prussian regiment. When the new HäT MAC sets of the 7YW Prussian Infantry became available, I bought heavily into them to recreate the British army active at Minden and the rest of that campaign. So heavily in fact that I have ample figures to spare and could not resist depicting some Prussians as well. This, the 3rd of these, is the 40th Fusilier Regiment von Kreytzen. Why? Well because of the pink vests and breeches. They are just so darn colourful, this is exactly why this period is so cool to paint!
OK so without further ado, let's go to the pictures:
The pink turned out a bit more purplish as I would like to, but all the same: I like these quite a lot!
Next post will be concerning the 28mm buildings if nothing else happens in between ;-)

7th Regiment de Ligne
Hoi,
The latest HäT testshots were of pre- and post 1812 (Bardin regulations) French line infantry. The pre-1812 soldiers have already been showcased here so now their post-1812 comrades are up. For these I wanted to do something different. As it happens I get the Images des Soldats newsletter and one of the featured uniformplates depicted Kingdom of Holland line infantry regiments. As I also have a Dutch book on these troops, I decided to go with a regiment de ligne from the Kingdom of Holland. The choice of particular regiment fell on the 7th because for this regiment I had more reference with both a regular soldier and pioneer in colour. It appears to have become a bit of a tradition for me to forget about the mounted officer, I paint the unit and the horse, but forget the officer himself. The unit shown here is made up out of figures from 3 different sets (pre 1812 command, post 1812 infantry and flank companies in greatcoat).
Anyway, let the pictures speak for themselves:

More 80's themed love...
Hoi,
Let's present the first of the "Enemy" soldiers to you today. Here are my first painted Cobra specialist and troopers: Firefly and some Crimson Guards (i.e. CeeGees). The Firefly figure is an Infinity Ariadne figure btw.
Both are not entirely as I would want them. Firefly actually needed to have sharper contrasts in his camouflage and the CeeGees have incredible detail which I failed to portray sufficiently well.
Anyway there's still rather a lot of figures in the batch so I can go on for some time with this themed project.

A wave of shock...
Hoi,
The last round of test grading has started over here, but I thought I'd put up one more figure for your enjoyment. This one closely resembles the 80's Sunbow cartoon character Shock-wave. I think he's the best one I have done so far.
The urban camouflage is really fun to paint, if a bit fiddly.

A Handsome Cab
Hoi,
After the latest posts you might be excused for thinking I have sadly forsaken my Victorian project, but that's not entirely true. I finally managed to finish my last vehicle for this era, the West Wind Hansom Cab. A nice little model with some great detail. Ideally there should be reins from the horse to the driver's hands but I decided that was too fiddly for me and also a risk on the gaming table.
It was enormous fun to paint, even if it did take me a while to come up with a paint scheme I liked. More Victorians will follow inevitably when time and mojo permit.
Cheers Sander

Rock & Roll!
Hoi,
Continuing our series of America's Highly Trained Daring Special Missions Force I present you someone who's ready to Rock & Roll!
Rock & Roll never was one of my most favourite figures in his first appearance, but the later version depicted here and made in white metal as seen on the photo's did rock my boat so to speak. It had a more unique but at the same time military look, luckily the white metal figure lacks the ridiculous gatling guns included with the 1989 action figure.
Anyway on to the figure itself, here he is!
More American personnel and some of their terrorist Enemies are in the works.
Cheers!
