Okay that's a corny title for today's update but it's just one of them days... Feeling a bit under the weather and I've just bunged up the decal on the shield of the hoplite below. Here are the first testers for my 28mm Ancient
Greeks.
First up is a picture of the piper and one finished hoplite
Next up: 3 more shots of the hoplite on his own
I am not satisfied by far, the base is off, the shield decal is rubbish and I missed a line on the helmet (which I have corrected on the model already). Well anyway that's what we have test-figures for.
Cheers Sander

I'm dubious : having the miniature "in flesh" and painted on your table, do they look "flat" or is it just the picture ? What is your opinion ?
Hoi Grégory, the figure doesn't feel flat to me since you can pose the right arm with spear anyway you like it and by varying the shield arms you can rank them up pretty well. Also keep in mind that in order to form a phalanx frontage the hoplites needed to assume a rather flat pose anyway...
thank you... I was more speaking of the "body parts", maybe I should have said "thin" ?
Aha, that's what you mean. Well yeah they are a bit more slender then most metal figures. I will try to arrange a comparison with some metals soon.
