Hoi,
As promised, here are some HaT testshots. For those of you who do not know what this means: testshots are sprues of pre-production figures they are made by the factory to show the manufacturers if the moulds turned out as they wanted or not. There are several of these sprues made available to a select few people and I am lucky to get some from time to time.
The sprues currently pre-released are of pre 1812 French Infantry marching and command sets as well as a post 1812 marching set. I have obtained two sprues worth of each and so have nearly enough figures to create two wargames units between them. At this moment I have painted the pre 1812 marching figures and part of one command sprue.
Here are the pre 1812 marching figures:
Some of the command figures (excluding the mounted officer):
I have added 4 white metal pre 1812 figures sent to me by Hagen miniatures to the unit to round them out.
The Hagen figures:
The entire unit:
The set contains separate head options for early Napoleonic light infantry tarleton helmets, shako's and bicornes. I chose to depict the soldiers as they come in the box.
Cheers Sander

Some HäT testshots
Hoi,
While the last weeks of the Challenge were still in progress, I received some testshots from the United States. These were the eagerly awaited British Peninsular Cavalry (both heavy and light dragoons) and WW1 Belgian Infantry sets. The latter are today's subject as I found some time to get them painted up.
So let's take a look at the figures. First up is the regular line infantry set. All figures are uniformed in the early war (i.e. 1914) uniform. What I specially like is that there are 3 figures in seated or prone positions as to indicate the need to seek cover, something often overlooked in WW1 sets. Here are two pics of the figures:
Next up are the Heavy weapon set figures. These include a prone Light Machine Gun being fired by either Carabineers or Jagers (Light Infantry) I painted them up as Carabineers on bike. There's a dogcart with Carabineer handler and an officer firing his pistol.
The HMG is based on a resin scenic base from the 36th Chamber, a very nice range of trench-themed bases can be obtained from them.
Some close ups of the heavies set:
Hope you like them as much as I did.
Cheers Sander

Napoleonic Brits!
Hoi,
One of my all-time favourite sets of HäT figures is the Peninsular British. Here's is my first truly complete regiment of them. The command figures are test-shot figures so they are missing the King's Colour which ill follow soonish.
enjoy!
Cheers Sander

Colonial Cavalry testshots
Hoi,
After receiving the latest batch of HäT testshots (the Von Lettow Vorbeck sets and some colonial cavalry) I was very keen to get cracking and so finished these up double quick. Several of these chaps have separate arms so you can create quite a divers looking unit. Each sprue also includes 5 rider poses for every 4 horses. This is done to make a better officer- OR ratio. It also meant I had an extra trooper left. So I took out on of my Italeri Scott's Greys horses and made a little conversion...
And the conversion:

Reall Compagnia Irlandesa
Hoi,
After a long absence I am more or less back. Here are some pictures of the last of my HäT Spanish testshots. I have painted these as a fictional regiment featured in the popular Sharpe series: the Real Compagnia Irlandesa. So yes I know these are not historically accurate but like them all the same. I hope to use them in some Sharpe inspired skirmish games in the future.
Cheers Sander

HäT Spanish Testshots!
Hoi,
Here are the first photo's of some of HäT's new Spanish Light Infantry and Grenadiers. Both sets consist of 8 poses each and so I have split them up in two mixed sets one of which you can see here painted as the Principe Regimento d'Infanteria.
The family shot:
Some shots of the Light Infantry:
The grenadiers ( I really wish I could have done a better job of the bags of the bearskins...)
Hope you like them!
Cheers Sander

Green- and Blue Jackets
Hoi,
The next instalment in my HäT testshot- extravaganza: here are some of the Colonial British Command and infantry sets mixed up. I painted some to resemble the Royal Marines (or Blue Jackets) and some as Rifle Brigade (Green Jackets).

Here come the lobsters!
Hoi,
A short while ago I indulged in the testshot sprues of 3 HäT sets, to whit the Peninsular British Command set, The British Colonial Command set and the British Colonial infantry set. The former is now finished and here are some pictures to wet your appetite. The heads are separate and what is new is the fact that the heads do not come with a peg, but the peg is fastened to the body while the heads have a corresponding gap. This gives you the option of making a pre- and post 1812 uniform or a mix. Also included is a head with, what I initially thought to be an undress cap. As it turns out upon closer examination it is actually a Scottish Kilmarnock with chequered band and all. Well I painted as an undress cap anyway.
The mounted officer:
Officers on foot:
Other ranks:
BTW: have you discovered the two glaring mistakes in this picture? Yep the serg has no rank chevrons and the drummers has no shako plate, I will rectify this asap.
Here an alternative head swap for the serg:
Cheers Sander
