The Emperor's Household

Hoi,

In the series of WIP shots I present you the Emperor's Staff at work. At the moment I am using an Italeri mounted Napoleon based on his own, as the French supreme commander. Everybody will agree that the man needs some support. So when Zvezda released their excellent Staff set I decided to mix these with some Italeri and Revell figures to make a large and impressive HQ for my French Army. Apart from Napoleon and Berthier it's mostly finished.

See for yourselves

Some more WIP projects

Hoi,

Currently I am painting the 3rd regiment "The Buffs" for my AWI army. Here's a WIP shot:

I know I made some mistakes, like the red plates for the grenadier bearskins but will rectify these asap.

Bring in the heavy guns!

Hoi,

Well I suppose most of you will be longing for a historic post rather then the DW or other Sci-fi stuff I've been posting lately so here we go: I only had two artillery bases for my British Colonial Army based on the HäT colonial artillery set, these sport medium to light field guns and so I needed some more heavies. Therefore I combined several sets (Italeri ACW guns with HäT Colonials and Napoleonic Mariners) to create these two bases of heavy guns, enjoy!

BTW: it wasn't until after making these pictures that I noticed I need to blacken the muzzles of the guns they're still blue... yes I'm very much ashamed!

Dreadfleet!

Hoi,

A GW post? Have I bought a GW game even after the last topic I did on them?Well yes and at the same time a great and resounding no.At the school where I work I have started a small mini-painting club. Unfortunately most kids play and paint GW mini's. None of them has an army painted up yet so in order to get gaming they decided to buy Dreadfleet and divide the boats among them so that everyone gets a one mini army.

Naturally I went with the Dwarfs... I painted up my mini quick for gaming so no fancy stuff here...

Injuns anyone?

Hoi,

As happens to most of us, a lot of projects get started and then forgotten in lieu for newer and nicer ones. So a group of Italeri Indians was based, primed and forgotten. Recently I had an urge to clear the "waiting-to-be-painted-tray" and did them up in one go. Here's the result:

The guys in European coats I did up in coats of the 3 different belligerent European armies in order to include the Indians as Allies for both the Brits, Colonials and French. The fellah in the repeated pose reminded me of Magua of "The Last of the Mohicans" fame...

Letter to GW

Hoi,

While I have been painting miniatures for what seems to me ages, it's actually about 17 years or so, it was 2nd edition 40K from GW that got me into gaming. I still vividly remember my first game and relish it as my first feat of Glory on the field of well the tabletop. Now for years now I have stopped playing the regular flagship GW games for a whole bucket-load of reasons, yet each time I try to put this in writing it ends up with me ranting at GW. So before I start doing that again here's a video of someone who put the finger on the sore-spot in a very decent and constructive way. Check it out and judge for yourselves:

Buildings galore

Hoi,

Just a small update today, I finished some more Dystopian Wars buildings. Here are my radar station and fortress. Both are done in a rather darkish colour, since I wanted them to look gloomy and foreboding.
