Gone Camping!

Hoi,

Last week I finished the Amera Plastics tent sets so now I have a big rectangular Command tent, two bell-tents and some more other-ranks tents. I have based them in arid weather condition groundworks because these will be used with either Peninsular War or Colonial games.

Hoi,

Today's vehicle showcase shows my least favourite WW1 vehicle the German A7V. Why don't I like this one? Mainly because I botched, or should I say Bosched, the paintjob. It's the Emhar kit, kindly put together by Hans and mis-painted by me...

Heia Safari Part II

Hoi,

After showing the European troops with which the Germans fought the Great War in Africa, I here now present the Ruga Ruga allies of said Germans. These are part of the growing HäT range of Africa Theatre figures and are test shots, so no production run is available at this moment yet.
Since I could not actually find good colour references, I used a mix of vibrant colours and more muted tones for their exotic garb.

I intend to use these figures for Pulp scenarios as well, although I have not played a game for what seems like eternity...

Vehicle showcase: Whippet

Hoi,

Continuing the Great War Vehicle showcase today is my Whippet. Again I painted it in the late war regular greenish scheme with British markings. Partly because they are simple, partly because they are colourful and most importantly because this is a Late War era tank.

Vehicle showcase: Carriage

Hoi,

A more civilised item in the Vehicle showcase series is this Fine Scale Industries carriage. At first I was thinking of using it as Napoleons carriage, but it is of newer build and thus I decided to use it as Victorian / WW1 era civilian vehicle. The base is just a piece of plastic card covered in wall paper, I like to think it kinda works.

This update takes us to Darkest Africa where a small German force led by the legendary Von Lettow-Vorbeck and aided by native auxiliaries, is fighting the French, British and Belgians. These figures are part of a series of HäT sets that depict both the German Schutztruppen, Askari's and native Ruga Ruga's. Here I present the European Schutztruppe include Von Letto-Vorbeck.

I have found reference for all my colour choices i.e. the different colours of headgear so I find them a very nice and colourful bunch.

I intend to use them not only to play WW1 skirmish scenario's but also some Pulp scenario's if and when I get the chance.

Vehicle showcase: Mark IV Female

Hoi,

For my WW1 games I posses a small wagon-park and I thought I'd put them up in a new "showcase" series, hence this "Vehicle showcase" article.

Let's start with that most famous of WW1 silhouettes: the British Mark IV. I have several EMHAR plastic kits build by Hans Slaager and painted by yours truly.

My Mark IV, I have done up in a regular late-war green scheme with the British red-white recognition markings. The tank is fictional and as such has the number C23 (C company 23rd vehicle) The legend reads Iron Duke. There was a real tank called Iron Duke, but this is not suppose to portray that particular vehicle. Well I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
