Update?

Dear Folks!

Due to a very busy schedule at work and at the study I am currently involved in, I have not had much time to update this BLOG.

What projects am I trying to squeeze into my very little spare time?

1) I am still hard at work at 3 commissions:
- the Damsell shown in a recent update
- some Napoleonic Italians; I am now doing the specials and command figures.
- some Napoleonic Austrians and French

2) the latest HäT testshots have arrived in the form of:
- 1:72 Napoleonic French Legere (I have based the Voltigeurs)
- 28mm El Cid Spanish Infy. I will do a seize comparison for these!

3) the last batch of my WW1 Late German Army

You'll understand that with the little time I have available progress on all of these is slow...

When I get things finished I'll be sure to update them here!

Hoi Peoples!

Here's another update, but this time something different altogether. This is another one of my commissions: an anima tactics lady. She misses an arm (including a very BIG gun) which I am painting separately to make transport to it's owner easier. These are WIP shots so she's not finished by far but the overall impression should be clear from these photo's. I must say that the pictures were taken under pretty bad circumstances and so do not give enough credit to the original.

Mega Update!

Hi Folks!

Since Old Year's Eve is not our favourite Holiday me and the missus had a 'quiet' two days and so lots of time to paint. Therefore I have a lot of pictures to show you all.

Punic War Romans

These Republican Romans by Zvezda were standing in my cabinet for ages and over the holidays I finally had time to paint them.

Late War Germans

Shown here are some of the Late War Germans I painted for my 1000 pnt The Great War Army. I decided to go with an "Assault-Battalion" due to two reasons: fewer figures to paint (so I can start playing asap) and very good statistics; cool! The figures shown here are mostly Revell, Ceasar and EMHAR products. I am really biased against the latter firm but they have some decent high ranking officers lacking in other sets so well I chose the lesser of two weevils right?

The German Imperial Staff (all EMHAR excepting the officer in the helmet which is Revell) The chap in black leather coat shooting his pistol looks very much like the Crown Prince as depicted in Mollo's excellent book on WW1 Uniforms... The officer on the left is an adjutant/ staff officer for gaming purposes.









Stormtrooper company front and back view. This is a small but hard-hitting company.






Below is a front- and back view of two of my regular assault platoons. In the end I will have 2 companies, every company consisting of a command squad (1 officer and 4 troopers) with 3 platoons of 9 men each. The chap in purple helmet covered in pink flowers is a concession to my dearest Girlfriend ;-)







This is a metal Artillery Caisson (protze) by Fine Scale.

Thumbling Dice Highlanders

Here are two pictures of finished Highlanders (20mm) by Thumbling Dice. I have added coins between the figures and the bases since they are slightly smaller then my 1: 72 plastics. Lovely figures!

New Years Eve Soccer!

Hi There!

While at the fair in Rheinberg, Benno de Groot made a simple conversion of a HäT handgrenade thrower into a WW1 Soccer playing soldier. These were used as an incentive to get the troops over the top in high spirits...

Anyway we made a sort of a challenge out of it ans here's my version:

What you cannot see from this angle is that I cut loose the foot with the ball (head of a pin) from the base and it is actually elevated as if he's kicking it.

Now at the moment I am also painting some Napoleonic Italian troops as part of a commission and here's a WIP shoot of them as well:
